Convocation Wishes Pr. Bourret “Godspeed”

The Rev. Rebecca Bourret was honored by Bishop Margaret G. Payne Monday, Oct. 23, at the opening of the 2006 Bishop’s Convocation at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Worcester, Mass. Pr. Bourret received a framed citation, a gift, and a standing ovation.

Pr. Bourret recently announced her resignation as an associate to the bishop in order to pursue a call in a different setting.

The citation read:

“With deep appreciation for six years of gracious and loving care for the pastors and congregations of the New England Synod of the ELCA, 2000-2006.

“Your ministry of compassion, patience and awesome hospitality has been a powerful witness and reminder to all of us of the inclusive and grace-filled welcome that God longs for us to offer to all people in the name of Jesus Christ.

“Thanks be to God for stirring up in you the call to pastoral ministry that you have answered so faithfully with persistent courage and love.”
