More than 180 women from all six New England states traveled Sept. 19 to Trinity Lutheran Church, Worcester, Mass., for “A Second Helping of Feed the Woman,” a one-day retreat to energize, nourish and refresh women for ministry. Bishop Margaret G. Payne was keynote speaker and led two workshops on prayer. Other options included bible study, a workshop on faithbooking, a workshop on the synod’s mission work in Honduras, Tai Chai, a tour of religious art at the Worcester Art Museum, meditation while walking a labyrinth, and time to chat and share needlework projects and renew friendships. Participants brought non-perishable food for the Carty Cupboard at Wesley United Methodist Church, Worcester. In addition, a special offering was received for a scholarship for a female Honduran college student. This event was funded in part by a generous grant from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
