May 19-21 Multi-Cultural Discernment Retreat at the
· Leadership Team: Rev. Julius Carroll, Rev. Jonathan Davis, Rev. William Hamilton,
Rev. Arthur Lewis, Rev. Harvey Huntley, Rev. CeCee Mills, Rev. Mack Smith,
Rev. Lamont Wells and Don Johnson
· No charge
· All travel expenses paid
Immersion Experiences in congregations
· Available to those young adults who are considering a career in the ministry
· The purpose of the experience is to deepen discernment and test the call to ministry
· The young adult and pastor together decide what the experience will involve
· 40 hours a week for the 10 summer weeks or 12 hours per week for 8 months
· Stipend of up to $2,500 for each of 15 persons
Competitive Mini-Grants:
· Available to those young adults who are considering a call to pastoral ministry
· The young person designs their own congregation-based ministry experience with the help of a pastor or Discernment Advocate
· 3-12 months in duration
· Grant of up to $5,000
