Connecticut Woman Donates Hair to Locks of Love

Growing and donating their long tresses to Locks of Love is just one way Jody Wynn Rodiger, Emanuel, Manchester, Conn., and her sister Karen Williford, Little Zion, Telford, Penn., help others. Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. “Just knowing that we might help a young girl or woman with cancer feel a bit better about her appearance is a wonderful thing,” said Rodiger, who serves as client processor and administrator for Good News Garage, a program of Lutheran Social Services of New England, in East Hartford, Conn. “I cannot even imagine what it must be like to loose your hair.” The sisters cut their hair every other year. After Rodiger mentioned this program to a confirmation class last year, three of the young women in the class decided to grow their hair for Locks of Love. Pr.
