New England Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America

God's Abundance: Live It! is the summary phrase of the New England Synod vision statement, proclaiming to us the breathtaking generosity of God, and calling us to live into our baptismal identity, growing into the likeness of Christ Jesus, giving even his Life for us.

Rooted for life in his life, death, and resurrection, we grow in faith as we grow in our stewardship of all the blessings God has entrusted to us: life, health, family, friends, the creation we inhabit, spiritual gifts, and wealth. In this part of the world, abundant wealth-more than enough-enough to share generously with our neighbor, for our mutual upbuilding.

The stewardship page of the ELCA website is a great place to start, with helps such as sermon starters for each Sunday, guidance for year-round stewardship, numerous resources for an annual financial response and much more! Check out: www.elca.org/stewardship.

During 2007 and 2008, we are offering a special opportunity: Money Leadership for Rostered Leaders will be held in multiple locations across the synod. This 24 hour retreat will allow for self-appraisal of feelings and practices with regard to money, reminding us of the Biblical roots of healthy stewardship and encouraging healthy financial planning. The stewardship team of the New England Synod would like to help congregations in their own stewardship ministry, and in the ministries we share through the synod and ELCA. We are:
